Gate News message, April 13, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau and the National Cyberspace Administration signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Innovation for the Development of Science and Technology, aiming to promote high-quality development of the digital economy enabled by technological innovation. The Memorandum of Cooperation covers key areas such as artificial intelligence, cross-border data flows, and blockchain, with the goal of deeply implementing the country’s “14th Five-Year Plan for 2021–2025” and supporting Hong Kong in building an international innovation and technology hub, as well as driving a new real-economy model led by technological innovation. Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive John Lee said that Hong Kong will continue to deepen cooperation with the National Cyberspace Administration and further promote cross-border data flow in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
