Trump Administration Faces Internal Divisions Over Iran War Strategy, Expert Says

GateNews

Gate News message, April 24 — The Trump administration is experiencing internal divisions over how to proceed with the ongoing U.S.-Israel war against Iran, according to Andrea Dressi, assistant professor of international relations and global politics at Rome University. Dressi noted that despite attempts to project strength via social media, significant disagreements have emerged within the U.S. government, with multiple high-ranking Pentagon and Defense Department officials dismissed.

Dressi stated that “American objectives keep shifting, strategies keep changing, and goals keep adjusting,” reflecting deeper fractures within the administration. He argued that the war was launched based on “serious miscalculations about the consequences of this conflict or a lack of strategic thinking,” resulting in a current stalemate where Trump is reportedly seeking an exit strategy.
