Gate News message, April 17 — According to Reuters, U.S. officials have informed several European allies that weapon delivery contracts signed previously will likely be delayed due to ongoing consumption of U.S. arsenals by the Iran conflict. Countries in the Baltic region and Scandinavia are among those expected to be affected.
The delayed weapons include various types of ammunition, both offensive and defensive. U.S. officials stated these arms are needed for Middle East operations and criticized European nations for failing to assist the U.S. and Israel in securing the Strait of Hormuz.
The White House, Pentagon, and State Department have not immediately responded to requests for comment on the matter.
