How to actually get good at DeFi (not just talk about it):
• understand how Ethereum works at a base level • do basic swaps on Uniswap, lend on Aave • constantly ask “how does this work under the hood?” • learn DeFi basics from docs + YouTube (both matter)
Then go deeper:
• AMMs (Uniswap v2/v3, Balancer, Curve) • liquidity provisioning, impermanent loss • lending protocols, LTVs, liquidations • find a liquidity mining campaign (ex: @katana) • start farming incentives, not narratives
Advanced level:
• tokenomics & emissions • ve(3,3) if you’re comfortable • smart contract risks • MEV, slippage, oracles • bridges (yes, they all break eventually)
Real edge:
• onchain analysis (Arkham / Etherscan / Nansen) • narratives + capital rotation • proper R:R assessment • DYOR until you’re sick of it
Late game:
• farm with size • diversify farms • read Vitalik’s blog, Cobie’s blog • read hack post-mortems • learn enough Solidity to read contracts on Etherscan • ask smart people (or LLMs) uncomfortable questions
Most people stop at step 3 and wonder why they never make money.
If you want recs on who to follow or what tools to learn, ask.
