The NYSE is planning to implement 7×24-hour US stock trading,
Many people are starting to say: #Crypto is over.
But I don't see it that way.
On the contrary,
This actually makes the boundaries of Crypto clearer. 🧵👇
1️⃣ Returning to the origin of Crypto
Permissionless, decentralized.
This is the only moat of blockchain projects.
7×24 trading is not exclusive to Crypto,
But the fact that anyone can participate without approval,
Is something traditional markets can never offer.
2️⃣ Compliance, essentially paving the way for giants
Compliance makes it easier for “big funds” to enter,
But for native projects within the circle,
It often results in a dimensionality reduction.
When rules are designed for giants,
Native innovation is the first to be squeezed out.
3️⃣ The core competitiveness of DeFi still holds
As long as DeFi坚持:
👉 No KYC required
👉 Permissionless
It always remains irreplaceable.
When institutions truly enter on a large scale,
The first to provide liquidity will be these places.
4️⃣ Projects that are neither fish nor fowl will eventually be淘汰
Unlike traditional finance,
They are not true Crypto.
Trying to please both sides,
In the end, neither side wants them.
5️⃣ “Pseudo-decentralization” will become more common
Centralized institutions will definitely:
Support their own “on-chain projects”
Launch “seemingly decentralized” products
But in the long run,
These are more like internal modules of a company.
They won't truly decentralize authority,
Nor will they build in that direction.
In extreme cases,
👉 It’s not surprising if one day they require users to KYC.
6️⃣ The ceiling for traditional giants is actually very low
They can build their own solutions,
Create their own chains,
Issue assets within their own systems.
But if they cannot interoperate with public chains:
👉 They only reach those who can already open accounts.
And the core value of Crypto is:
📌 Public chains reach every corner of the world, every person.
Not just the US,
And not just compliant users.
📌 In one sentence:
7×24 trading won't kill Crypto,
It just makes clearer
“What is Crypto, and what is not.”
The real thing to worry about,
Has never been decentralized projects,
But those
That have long forgotten why they exist.
