Maximum leverage is automatically capped during major macro events such as FOMC meetings, CPI releases, Non-Farm Payrolls, GDP, PPI, PCE, PMI, ADP, Retail Sales, and Crude Oil inventory reports. Caps are also applied 60 minutes before Friday market close, 30 minutes before Monday–Thursday closures, and during the first 10 minutes of Monday market open. Existing positions are unaffected, and leverage reverts automatically once restrictions end. These measures protect traders from unexpected volatility while allowing active engagement.
Margin, Settlement, and Hedging Architecture
Gate TradFi uses USDx as the margin currency, pegged 1:1 to USDT. Settlements are USD-denominated, with automatic conversion for non-USD assets. Hedging is fully supported: long and short positions on the same pair offset margin requirements, so 0.01 long versus 0.01 short requires no additional margin.
