PANews 1月11日消息，据《华尔街日报》报道，Tether之所以能够为全球最主要的稳定币，马杜罗从中发挥了一定作用，因为Tether是委内瑞拉国家石油公司（Petróleos de Venezuela，简称PdVSA）规避制裁的重要工具，被用作石油交易结算货币，也为饱受本国货币玻利瓦尔暴跌之苦的委内瑞拉民众提供了一条经济生命线。
Tether一位发言人回应表示，该公司遵守所有适用的美国和国际制裁规定，并与包括外国资产控制办公室在内的美国当局密切合作，而且会根据合法请求定期协助执法部门冻结与非法活动或违反制裁行为相关的地址。
