Sonic Labs has appointed Mitchell Demeter as the new CEO. Demeter, a pioneer in the digital asset space and a seasoned entrepreneur, will lead Sonic into the next phase of global growth, driving the expansion of the ecosystem, connecting financial institutions, and building bridges into the capital markets of America as well as internationally.
Sonic currently has a mainnet that handles up to 400,000 TPS with a confirmation time of under 1 second, along with milestones such as listing on Coinbase, releasing native USDC, and integrating Chainlink's CCIP. However, Sonic lacks support from major institutions.
Mitchell DemeterDemeter will focus on building a team of experienced executives, enhancing business development in America and globally. He emphasized the goal of making Sonic a global financial infrastructure on the blockchain, amidst an estimated 10% of global GDP that could be traded on-chain in the next decade.
Michael Kong will transition to the role of CIO and continue to serve on the Board of Directors, accompanying Demeter in the new phase.
