Dutch Finance Minister Eelco Heinen stated that he plans to amend the controversial bill previously passed regarding the taxation of unrealized crypto asset gains. The bill was approved by the Dutch House of Representatives on February 12, requiring investors to pay 36% tax on unrealized gains even if they have not sold their crypto assets. Heinen told RTL Nieuws, “This law should not be passed as it is; there are obvious issues that need to be revised.” The bill still needs to be reviewed by the Dutch Senate and is expected to take effect no earlier than January 1, 2028. The Ministry of Finance said it will reassess the bill and engage in discussions with Parliament to decide whether to rewrite it entirely or make partial revisions. (DL News)
