Odaily Planet Daily reports that crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett posted on X that the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has today released proposed rules for implementing the GENIUS Act and is seeking public comment. The framework will establish basic rules for OCC-regulated authorized issuers of foreign payment stablecoins and certain custodial activities. Comptroller Jonathan Gould stated that the goal is to create a system where stablecoins can “thrive in a safe and sound manner.” BSA/AML and OFAC provisions are not included and will be addressed separately in coordination with the Treasury.
