Odaily Star Daily News: The widow of the late Bitcoin early contributor Hal Finney posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account stating that 17 years ago today, Hal Finney (@Halfin) published his first tweet mentioning Bitcoin “Running bitcoin”, while announcing the launch of the fifth “Running Bitcoin Challenge” event.
Hal Finney was the recipient of Satoshi Nakamoto’s first Bitcoin transfer and played a key role in the improvement and operation of Bitcoin’s early versions. He passed away due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
