A person's body really ages dramatically at a certain age. It's not gradual at all. In previous winters, I would still ride horses outdoors for several hours every day. One pair of thermal underwear plus a pair of sports pants was enough to get through the winter.

But this year, I was directly frozen numb. Double-layer leather and fleece-lined riding boots still felt cold on my feet, and cotton pants plus fleece-lined sports pants couldn't keep my little brother from shrinking back from the cold.
It's the first time I’ve felt how cold Northeast winters are.
I also realize that my body is declining.
