Regarding yesterday’s Trust Wallet hack
The breach was limited to the browser version of the wallet and affected Google Chrome extensions due to a malicious update. The mobile apps and desktop versions were not affected.
That said, CZ wrote on X that around $7M was stolen. If you were affected, don’t panic — he said the losses will be covered from his personal funds.
Overall, the situation is very dangerous, because in reality this kind of thing can happen to any browser-based wallet. Something similar even happened with MetaMask about a year ago through ADS Power.
So we strongly recommend securing yourself as much as possible and disabling automatic extension updates. There’s plenty of information online on how to do this in Google Chrome.
