Charter and Disney Expand Streaming Offering: Spectrum Customers Now Get Hulu Included
Spectrum TV Select Bundles Hulu with Disney+ and ESPN for Over $100 Monthly Value
Spectrum TV Select customers are about to get significantly more entertainment value. Charter Communications and The Walt Disney Company have announced an expanded partnership that bundles Hulu (with ads) directly into all Spectrum TV Select packages at no extra charge—starting this summer.
Here’s what this means for users: TV Select subscribers will soon access Hulu’s entire catalog of popular series, films, and original content alongside their already-included ad-supported Disney+ and the upcoming ESPN streaming service (launching by fall 2025). Combined, these streaming services represent a retail value exceeding $100 per month for each customer.
Eight Disney Channels Make a Comeback
Beyond streaming, the deal brings eight Disney-owned linear networks back to Spectrum’s channel lineup. These include Disney Jr, Disney XD, Freeform, FXX, FXM, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, and BabyTV. The return of these channels strengthens Spectrum’s entertainment portfolio and expands Disney’s advertising reach across both linear and streaming platforms.
Why This Partnership Matters
According to Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition at Charter, this expanded agreement demonstrates the success of their innovative distribution model. “This extension reflects our shared confidence in this model, which is already showing improvements in subscriber retention,” Montemagno noted. “It’s the result of both companies working creatively to achieve win-win outcomes.”
Sean Breen, Executive Vice President of Disney Platform Distribution, emphasized the strategic value: “By combining our full channel portfolio with premium streaming services, we’re delivering the most comprehensive entertainment package available, reinforcing the enduring strength of linear TV paired with modern streaming.”
What Customers Get
Starting this summer, Spectrum TV Select members can stream Hulu’s entire library directly through Xumo Stream Box or any Hulu-compatible device. Customers also have the option to upgrade to ad-free tiers of included streaming services.
The expanded agreement extends Charter and Disney’s multi-year carriage deal well into the future, supported by joint marketing initiatives. Charter will also offer these streaming services separately to broadband-only customers at standard retail rates.
About the Companies
Charter Communications operates Spectrum, providing connectivity to more than 57 million homes and businesses across 41 states. The Walt Disney Company, a Dow 30 constituent with $91.4 billion in annual revenue (fiscal year 2024), manages three major business segments: Entertainment, Sports, and Experiences.
