Pottery Barn Teen has unveiled Dorm Concierge, a complimentary service that pairs students and families with a personal representative to guide them through the entire process of furnishing a college room. This marks a significant step forward in how retailers support the back-to-school shopping experience.
What Makes Dorm Concierge Different
The service kicks in the moment customers select Pick Up Near Campus™ during checkout. Rather than navigating the process alone, shoppers are assigned a dedicated representative who becomes their go-to contact for every step of the journey. This personal touch extends beyond the initial order—the representative provides bi-weekly updates (or more frequently if preferred), proactively manages backorders and replacements, and handles any last-minute changes before pickup.
Pottery Barn Teen’s pbdorm collection benefits from this new support system, making it simpler for students to access quality dorm furniture and essentials with the same design-forward approach the brand is known for.
Seamless Pickup, Built for Campus Life
The Pick Up Near Campus™ feature works by allowing customers to select their school during the checkout process. The system automatically shows all eligible nearby Williams-Sonoma Inc. retail locations—spanning over 450 stores across Pottery Barn, West Elm, Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn Kids, and Pottery Barn Teen locations. Once a preferred store is selected, items can be held for up to 30 days after the chosen pickup date, offering flexibility for students arriving at different times.
After completing their order, the Dorm Concierge representative coordinates all the final details, ensuring a smooth pickup experience and following up afterward to confirm everything arrived as expected.
More Than Just a Service
Pottery Barn Teen’s commitment to the dorm experience extends beyond Dorm Concierge. The brand already offers free design services, a mobile app for convenient browsing, a bedding visualizer tool, and wishlist features for room planning.
