PetroTal Expands Board Leadership with Veteran Energy Executive
PetroTal Corp. (TSX: TAL) (AIM: PTAL) (OTCQX: PTALF), a leading oil and gas development company with operations in Peru, has brought on Denisse Abudinen as an independent, non-executive Director, effective immediately. The appointment strengthens the company’s governance structure ahead of its 2025 annual general meeting scheduled for June 19, 2025.
Who Is Denisse Abudinen?
Abudinen brings substantial international experience across the oil and gas, renewable energy, and petrochemical sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Low Carbon Global Market Development at Methanex Corporation in Vancouver, she has held multiple senior leadership positions globally.
Her professional trajectory includes roles at ENAP (the Chilean National Oil Company), where she progressed through progressively senior positions in exploration and production starting in 2007. She subsequently led ENAP Sipetrol (Egypt) as Chief Executive Officer in Cairo before transitioning into renewable energy development. Earlier in her career, Abudinen worked with McKinsey and Company in Mexico City as a Senior Client Development Advisor covering Latin American markets.
Her educational credentials include a Civil Industrial Engineering degree (2006) and Business degree (2007) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, complemented by a Master’s in International Management (2012) from King’s College London.
Strategic Significance for PetroTal
Manuel Pablo Zuniga-Pflucker, the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the appointment: “Denisse’s extensive background in global oil and gas operations will be instrumental as we execute our growth and development strategy. Her expertise adds meaningful depth to our Board’s collective experience.”
Abudinen’s appointment reflects PetroTal’s commitment to strengthening its board composition with leaders who have navigated complex energy transitions and international operations. Her experience spanning from exploration to production—across Argentina, Ecuador, Egypt, and Chile—aligns well with PetroTal’s focus on efficiently developing its Peru-based assets.
