Recently participated in a new coin launch, expecting to make a small profit, but ended up learning a costly lesson instead. Sharing this experience with fellow newcomers.
First, don’t be fooled by the difference between the pre-sale price and the pre-market price. I saw the pre-sale at 0.035 dollars and the pre-market at 0.057, thinking this was a guaranteed arbitrage opportunity. But reality was harsh—only 40 times the funds were raised, far below previous projects’ performance, and the returns were cut in half. It seems that when a project looks profitable, too many participants actually reduce the profit margins.
Second, costs need to be calculated in detail. I spent 0.15 BNB, equivalent to 150 RMB, to participate. After deducting various costs, I only got about 40 RMB profit, and the fiat value of the contract was less than 200 RMB. Why didn’t I consider these details during the initial modeling?
The last pitfall is the token unlock rules. The tokens in this project couldn’t be sold during the pre-TGE phase, and the future price movement depends entirely on luck, which is quite risky.
What do experienced friends think about this type of new coin launch project? How can we identify truly promising projects in advance? Welcome to share your insights in the comments.
