remember when Twitter gave NFT holders hexagonal profile pictures..


felt like mainstream validation for the space at the time..
then NFTs died down.. and Twitter just.. quietly removed the feature..
no announcement.. no explanation.. just gone..
and nobody said a word..
that's the thing about platforms building "Web3 features".. they're not doing it cause they believe in ownership or decentralization..
they do it when the narrative is hot.. when there's engagement and PR value in it..
the moment that narrative cools? feature disappears..
your "ownership" only exists as long as the platform finds it useful..
I had the hex pfp btw.. felt cool for about 3 weeks..
