According to Tsla Archive on social platform X, Tesla FSD software leader Duan Pengfei (Phil Duan) has now been promoted to Director of Tesla Autonomous Driving Engineering. It is noteworthy because of the timing, as Tesla Robotaxi has just begun full autonomous operation. Also, because of the special nature of the promoted individual—this key figure in Tesla Robotaxi has worked at Tesla for nine years, and before his promotion, he was the company’s chief software engineer and led the development of FSD V14.
