Abstract generation in progress

American Electric Power (AEP) has seen its interconnection pipeline grow by an additional 28GW since October, with 80% of this increase attributed to large technology companies, bringing its total secured incremental demand to 56GW by 2030. The growth is primarily driven by hyperscale data center development in Texas, ERCOT, PJM Interconnection, and SPP markets. To address this demand, AEP is extending its capital investment plan and exploring off-grid power solutions like hydrogen fuel cells for expedited data center connections.
