DBS partners with diversified asset investment platform GraniteAsia to establish over HKD 800 million AI new stock fund

DBS Bank partners with diversified asset investment platform Granite Asia and completes $110 million (approximately HKD 858 million) fundraising for an AI-driven new stock fund, investing in AI-driven companies seeking to go public. Since 2015, over 13,000 AI-driven companies have been established in Asia, many of which are seeking funding to accelerate expansion. The two parties stated that the new fund aims to accelerate the development of Asia’s AI ecosystem and attract broad investors from Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Europe to demonstrate global investment interest in these Asian companies.

The two sides have signed a memorandum of understanding, with Granite Asia responsible for developing the new fund, specifically distributing it to DBS’s wealth management clients to provide them with co-investment opportunities. DBS will provide end-to-end solutions for Granite Asia’s funds and its portfolio companies at various stages of development, including financing and corporate loans, merger and acquisition advisory services, bond issuance, and preparations for IPOs.

DBS Group CEO and Director Piyush Gupta stated that this cooperation reflects the group’s “integrated banking” concept, which integrates wealth management, institutional banking, and global markets teams to serve clients. Granite Asia Managing Partner Felix Wu indicated that as capital markets recover, it becomes easier to obtain growth capital, and partnering with DBS will enable further growth for the company.
