The U.S. Embassy in Mexico advises U.S. citizens to seek shelter locally

The Mexican drug lord known as “El Mencho” was killed in Jalisco, Mexico, on February 22 local time. It is claimed that the United States played a role in this operation conducted by the Mexican military. The death of “El Mencho” has triggered retaliation from drug trafficking groups, leading to violent riots in multiple parts of Mexico. Armed clashes occurred in the port city of Puerto Vallarta along the Pacific coast of Jalisco, with thick smoke rising in several areas. It is reported that thousands of American tourists have been stranded. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico advised its citizens to stay in place and seek shelter. Several flights operated by American and Canadian airlines to Mexico have been canceled. (CCTV International News)
