The EU will hold a meeting on the 23rd to reassess the trade agreement with the US

The European Union will hold an emergency meeting on the 23rd to re-evaluate the trade agreement between the EU and the US, reached in 2025. The European Parliament’s International Trade Committee was originally scheduled to hold a meeting on the 24th to vote on the legislative proposals related to advancing the approval of the trade agreement. On the 22nd local time, European Parliament International Trade Committee Chair Lange stated via social media that due to the “chaos” caused by the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the U.S. government’s large-scale tariff policies are illegal, he will propose that the European Parliament suspend the approval of the EU-US trade agreement.
