Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Meteorological Observatory issues a Yellow Wind Warning Signal at 10:21 AM on February 23, 2026: It is expected that from this afternoon to the night of the 24th (from Hami City to the morning of the 25th), some areas in Bortala Prefecture, Tacheng Prefecture, Altay Prefecture, Karamay City, Urumqi City, eastern Changji Prefecture, Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, western Aksu Prefecture, northern Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Turpan City, and Hami City will successively experience northwest gusts of about level 8, with wind speeds of 10 to 11 on the Beaufort scale. In Bortala Prefecture, Tacheng Prefecture, Karamay City, and Turpan City, gusts at the wind mouth can reach level 12, while in Hami City, gusts at the wind mouth can reach levels 13 to 14. Some areas may experience blowing snow due to the wind.
