Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has approved the SPAN Edge device for customer use in its new PanelBoost program, aiming to simplify and reduce the cost of home electrification. This “at-the-meter” grid technology allows homeowners to add electric appliances or EV charging without expensive and time-consuming electrical panel upgrades, which can typically cost between $6,000 and $40,000.
