This “at-the-meter” grid technology allows homeowners to add electric appliances or EV charging without expensive and time-consuming electrical panel upgrades, which can typically cost between $6,000 and $40,000. PG&E will supply the SPAN Edge device, with estimated customer installation costs ranging from $500 to $2,000, significantly accelerating the transition to clean energy for thousands of households.
