India's Antitrust Watchdog Penalizes Intel $3.3 Million Over Discriminatory Warranty Policy

India’s Competition Commission has fined Intel $3.3 million for a discriminatory warranty policy concerning its boxed microprocessors. The policy, effective April 2016, only honored warranties for products purchased from authorized Indian distributors, unlike its global policy. Intel has since discontinued this policy, which was a mitigating factor in the final penalty amount.
