Today (February 20), at the Haikou-Zhanjiang 2026 Qiongzhou Strait Spring Festival Travel Service Guarantee Press Conference, it was announced that as of February 19, 2026, the 18 days before the Spring Festival travel rush, passenger and freight transportation across the Qiongzhou Strait has been smooth and orderly. It is predicted that the peak outbound and return travel from Haikou ports will occur from February 20 to 23 (the fourth to seventh days of the Lunar New Year), lasting four days; the highest peak day will see 22,000 vehicle crossings. Regarding weather forecasts, the latter half of the holiday period is generally good, with light fog expected in the mornings and evenings on the 24th and 25th. Severe weather risks causing suspension of service are low. Relevant departments kindly remind vehicles and travelers crossing the sea to check remaining tickets and make reservations through official channels; during peak times, traffic will be heavy, so follow on-site instructions and arrive no more than 2 hours before the scheduled departure time on your ticket; stay updated on weather alerts and travel safely.
