The statement expressed deep concern over the rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Darfur region and Blue Nile State of Sudan, calling on all parties to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, respect international humanitarian law, and ensure that humanitarian aid can safely, quickly, and unobstructedly reach all affected areas.
