Oak Tree Capital Management Co-Chair Howard Marks stated that artificial intelligence (AI) may, like index funds before it, push many investors out of asset management because of its excellent performance in data absorption and pattern recognition. Marks pointed out that humans are better at handling situations that cannot easily be addressed with existing models.
