According to CCTV News, the Ministry of Commerce stated that they aim to surpass 300 billion yuan in the total output value of silkworm cocoon silk across the country by 2028. This initiative will include the silk industry as a key focus to promote the upgrading and quality improvement of traditional industries. The Ministry will strengthen technological innovation, promote factory-based sericulture, CNC weaving, and green dyeing and printing, driving the development of these sectors and improving the industrial chain in central and western regions. Additionally, they will build a comprehensive information database, facilitate regional cooperation, promote the “East Silk, West Solid” strategy, achieve industrial gradient transfer, and enhance international competitiveness.
