The methanol market has been stable recently. Taking Inner Mongolia methanol as an example, as of February 14, the average price in Inner Mongolia was 1,850.83 yuan/ton, up 3.11% month-on-month. Before and during the holiday, market trading volume was relatively low, mainly stable operation. Looking at the fundamentals for the future, although there is a short-term coexistence of demand for shipments and downstream restocking after the holiday in the mainland, the current situation shows high operating rates and weak demand; along the coast, downstream demand is weak, and there is an expectation of declining imports. During the holiday, the import market was mainly weak, and recent inventory levels are expected to decline. Therefore, the fundamentals are mostly bearish, but attention should still be paid to recent international geopolitical factors and related product prices, which may bring bullish effects.
