A reporter learned from relevant authorities on April 7 that at around 10:40 a.m. on April 6, a fire broke out at Gansu Jinte Chemical Co., Ltd. in the chemical industrial park in Yumen City, Gansu Province. The incident resulted in 3 people dead and 2 people with minor injuries. The reporter learned that the location of the accident was a workshop within the company, and the building structure was a reinforced concrete structure with a total of 3 floors. After the accident, the local authorities quickly organized firefighting and rescue efforts; at 12:14 p.m. on April 6, the open flames at the scene were extinguished; at 12:57 p.m., the on-site search and rescue operation was concluded. During an interview, the reporter learned that the two injured people sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment, while the cause of the accident is still under further investigation. At present, relevant departments in Gansu Province are carrying out a risk and hazard inspection and assessment of related chemical enterprises within the province, and are taking resolute measures to prevent similar accidents from happening again.
