Let's clarify two terms that are often circulating in the crypto community and can confuse newcomers.

People often confuse "Hopium" and "Copium," even though they mean very different things. I think it's worth understanding this once and for all.

"Hopium" is a blend of the words "hope" and "opium." It sounds funny, but in reality, it's slang for mocking blind optimism. When someone believes that their dead coin will suddenly bounce back and fly to the moon despite all signs of failure—that's Hopium. It's like an invented drug you take when you need hope, but that hope doesn't match reality.

On the other hand, "Copium" is something completely different. It's about coping mechanisms when you're trying to deal with a negative situation. When an investment drops and you're looking for convincing reasons why it's actually good—that's Copium. If Hopium is baseless hope, then Copium is an attempt to "cover up" reality with a convenient story.

It's important to understand: both terms have a negative connotation. People use them to mock those with unrealistic expectations. You'll often see comments like "a little Hopium for all of us" or "BTC to 100k"—that's obvious sarcasm.

Crypto community social media is just flooded with this. When a project crashes, people split: some indulge in Hopium (believing everything will be fine), others indulge in Copium (looking for excuses). Both states are ways to cope with disappointment, but each in their own way.

So when someone tells you that you're on Hopium, it's not a compliment. It means your expectations are not grounded in solid evidence. And if they talk about Copium—that's clearly you trying to convince yourself that everything is okay when it's not.
