The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps released a map of safe navigation routes through the Strait of Hormuz to avoid contact with mines.

Vessels planning to pass through the strait should coordinate with the IRGC Navy and transit via the alternative routes set by it to avoid mines. According to the map attached to the statement, the alternative route requires that the vessels entering and exiting the Persian Gulf pass respectively from the north side and the south side of Larak Island in the northern part of the strait. Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization released on the 8th a safety navigation route map for the waters of the Strait of Hormuz, informing vessels in both directions to follow principles of shipping safety and avoid striking mines. In its statement, the organization said that from February 28 to April 8, fighting in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz continued without letup, and various types of anti-ship mines may be present within the main navigation channel of the Strait of Hormuz.
