Recently, I’ve been testing overseas accounts and found that buying SIM cards directly is too troublesome, so I started researching domestic SMS verification platforms. To be honest, I’ve encountered many pitfalls before—some platforms are so slow they make you doubt life, and others simply don’t receive messages. Eventually, I found a few decent ones.

In simple terms, SMS verification platforms are services that rent virtual numbers to receive verification codes, which are quite suitable for our scenarios like temporary registration or API testing. I’ve used two international platforms, SMS-Activate and 5SIM, both of which are pretty fast—usually within 10 seconds—and cover many countries. But if you mainly test domestic apps, domestic SMS verification platforms are actually more convenient. For example, SuperCloud SMS and XiaoNiao Verification are quite good; they respond within 5 to 20 seconds for domestic number segments, support API integration, and batch operations are straightforward.

Here’s a tip for using domestic SMS verification platforms: don’t just go for the cheapest option—choose reputable providers. Also, it’s wise to prepare several backup numbers so you can switch quickly if one gets flagged or blocked. This greatly improves your success rate. Additionally, don’t rely on virtual numbers as your long-term primary numbers—they lack privacy and security. Overall, domestic SMS verification platforms are quite practical for light usage, as long as you pick the right platform.
