Xinhua News Agency, Washington, March 31—On March 31, the White House said that U.S. President Trump will deliver a nationwide address at 21:00 Eastern Daylight Time on April 1 (9:00 Beijing time on April 2) and will issue “important updates” on the Iran issue.

White House press secretary Leavitt made the above remarks on social media, but did not provide any more information.

Earlier that day, Trump said the United States could end its military action against Iran within two to three weeks, “We’re going to withdraw soon.” He has only one goal: that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons, “and that goal has already been achieved.” If an agreement is reached with Iran, the fighting might end even sooner, but even if the United States does not reach an agreement with Iran, the fighting can still end.
