Alibaba sends company-wide email: Major organizational restructuring, Li Feifei appointed as Alibaba Cloud CTO

Phoenix Finance and Technology News, April 8, according to daily updates from a major company, Alibaba has issued an all-staff letter, and its AI-related organizations across the group are set for a major reshuffle. This includes upgrading Tongyi Lab to a business unit, with Fei-Fei Li appointed as Alibaba Cloud CTO, Ze-Ming Wu (Fan Yu) focusing on the group CTO role, the CEO position of Taobao Flash Purchase being succeeded by Yanqun Lei, and Zhou Jingren serving as Chief AI Architect of the Technology Committee.

According to the internal letter, Alibaba establishes a Technology Committee at the group level, led by Yongming Wu, with members including Jingren Zhou, Ze-Ming Wu, and Fei-Fei Li. Among them, Jingren Zhou serves as Chief AI Architect of the Technology Committee; Fei-Fei Li is responsible for Alibaba Cloud technology and the construction of AI cloud infrastructure; and Ze-Ming Wu is responsible for the group’s business technology platforms and the development of AI inference platforms.

To accelerate AI development in line with the overall goals, Alibaba will also upgrade Tongyi Lab to the Tongyi Large Model business unit, led by Jingren Zhou; Fei-Fei Li will serve as Alibaba Cloud CTO; Ze-Ming Wu will focus on Alibaba Group CTO work, and the CEO position of Taobao Flash Purchase will be taken over by Yanqun Lei.
