Maybe We’ll Meet Aliens

During the xAI all-hands meeting on Wednesday, the billionaire shared his vision of having moon-based factories and mass drivers. “We’re actually gonna have a Mass Driver on the Moon,” Musk said.

A Mass Driver is a theoretical method of propulsion that involves accelerating payloads using magnetic levitation via electromagnets. He said that building a Mass Driver would help reach 1000 GW of the sun’s energy. “I really want to see a mass driver on the Moon that is shooting AI satellites into deep space,” Musk said.

He added that such a phenomenon would be “epic” and help bring humanity closer to lunar cities, as well as traveling to Mars and beyond. “Maybe we’ll meet aliens, maybe we’ll see some civilizations that lasted for millions of years,” he said at the meeting.

Since xAI was formed just 30 months ago, the small and talented team has made remarkable progress.

Elon Musk Touts Optimus

Musk had earlier touted the Optimus Humanoid robot as a means to build civilizations on other planets, calling it the first “von Neumann machine,” which is another theoretical concept that describes a probe capable of replicating itself by using a planet’s resources to create copies of itself, which are then sent to other planets to extract more resources.

The billionaire had also shared that Tesla would establish an “Optimus Academy” where it would train thousands of the humanoid robots on various tasks via its reality simulator.

SpaceX-xAI Merger

Musk’s xAI was merged into SpaceX in a reported $1.25 trillion trade, with SpaceX being valued at $800 billion and xAI commanding a $250 billion valuation. The move will also be followed by a proposed IPO for SpaceX, which is reportedly scheduled for June, coinciding with Musk’s birthday.
