Singapore states that it cannot rule out the possibility of domestic energy supply disruptions due to the Middle East conflict.
Singapore’s Minister for Home Affairs K. Shanmugam said that given the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the possibility of an energy supply disruption in Singapore cannot be ruled out if more suppliers are unable to provide fuel or natural gas. In Parliament, Shanmugam said that Singapore will continue to develop solar energy in the near term and will seek to import electricity. He said on Tuesday that the government is also assessing other sources of energy, such as nuclear power, to diversify the country’s energy mix. (Sina Finance)
