#Gate上线Pre-IPOs Gate Digital Pre-IPO: Ordinary Investors Finally Get This Window
As a long-term investor focused on the primary market, my first reaction to the news that Gate is launching digital Pre-IPs is—this path has finally opened up to ordinary people. Below are my thoughts on this discussion topic.
2026 is widely regarded as the "Super IPO Year," with mega-unicorns like SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic, valued at hundreds of billions of dollars, potentially starting their IPO processes this year. If I had to choose the most anticipated one, my top pick is SpaceX.
SpaceX is not only Elon Musk’s most dazzling asset but also the undisputed leader in global commercial spaceflight. Reports indicate that the company is in talks with four major Wall Street banks regarding its 2026 IPO, with the latest share acquisition valuation reaching $800 billion. Rumors suggest the IPO valuation could hit $1.5 trillion. More importantly, its satellite internet business, Starlink, is in a rapid growth phase, expected to generate most of the revenue by 2026. Such a company, combining “technological moat” and “commercialization certainty,” would undoubtedly be a dream target for all investors if they could participate early through Gate’s digital Pre-IPO.
Additionally, OpenAI and Stripe are equally exciting. The former is the absolute leader in the generative AI wave, while the latter is a hidden champion in digital payments. Of course, which projects will actually go live depends on Gate’s compliance progress with various parties, but just this “candidate list” is already enough to excite.
Traditional IPOs seem open but are actually very unfriendly to ordinary investors. High net worth thresholds, complex foreign brokerage account opening procedures, regional restrictions… High-quality projects are often snatched up by institutions before they even go public.
Gate’s digital Pre-IPO mechanism breaks down these invisible barriers:
First, the threshold is significantly lowered. Users can directly subscribe using stablecoins (such as USDT) within the platform, without complex procedures or large capital requirements, giving more ordinary users the chance to participate in high-quality Pre-IPO projects. This means that the “pre-listing shares” once exclusive to institutions are now accessible to ordinary investors.
Second, regional restrictions are eliminated. In traditional channels, non-U.S. investors often need third-party brokers to participate in U.S. stock IPOs, which is cumbersome and costly. Gate, as a global crypto platform, allows users worldwide to participate with one click, truly democratizing investment opportunities.
Third, liquidity is significantly improved. Traditional Pre-IPO investments often have long lock-up periods and difficult exits, but digital stocks issued on-chain theoretically allow investors to trade flexibly in the secondary market, greatly freeing capital liquidity constraints.
In simple terms, the essence of Gate’s mechanism is a “dimensionality reduction attack” on traditional securities issuance channels using blockchain technology—transforming the originally closed, high-threshold Pre-IPO market into an open market accessible to ordinary people.
The “Token-Stock Linkage”—the value connection and integration between crypto assets and traditional stocks—is moving from concept to reality. The boundaries between traditional finance and crypto finance are being torn open by technology, providing the core assets of the traditional world and the value carriers of the crypto world with a technical foundation for dialogue, exchange, and integration on the same level. From a micro-trend perspective, the inclusion of Bitcoin in corporate balance sheets and the rollout of tokenized stocks both indicate that “Token-Stock” is becoming a new dimension in asset allocation that cannot be ignored.
However, I believe this model is still in its early stages. Ordinary investors should follow a few principles when participating:
1. Control position size. Pre-IPO is inherently high-risk investment. Even with digital transformation, the fundamental risks of the underlying assets remain. It’s advisable to allocate 5%-10% of the total portfolio as an “aggressive” allocation.
2. Prioritize fundamentally solid targets. Companies like SpaceX and OpenAI, with clear business models and technological moats, even if highly valued, have a much higher long-term value certainty than most crypto projects.
3. Manage risks dynamically. Digital stocks are highly correlated with the crypto market, and volatility can be amplified. Investors should consider their risk tolerance, plan for take-profit and stop-loss strategies, and avoid blindly chasing high prices.
The integration of traditional finance and the crypto world is an irreversible wave, and Gate’s digital Pre-IPs are an important part of this trend. It gives ordinary people the opportunity to stand at the threshold of “super unicorn” IPOs and be on equal footing with institutions. This is not just an evolution of investment tools but a substantive step toward financial democratization.
Of course, opportunities always come with risks. Embracing new models requires rationality and good risk management to truly benefit from this financial revolution. Looking forward to Gate launching more high-quality targets in the future!
