Meituan Travel: "Qingming + Spring Break" drives overall growth in dining, entertainment, and leisure spending

On April 7, data released by Meituan Travel showed that, affected by the combined effect of the “Spring Holiday” and the Qingming mini-holiday, consumption across all categories—including dining, entertainment, and leisure at destinations—rose significantly. Among them, cultural and tourism consumption from Sichuan and Jiangsu increased by 41% and 45%, respectively. Traveling during the holiday not only boosted major scenic spots, but also sparked consumption in city business districts. Dianping’s “Must-Eat List” daily traffic increased 111% year over year in the same period. Nanchang, Yangzhou, Xuzhou, Jiaxing, Zhuhai, Quanzhou, Nantong, Shaoxing, Jinhua, and Taizhou were selected as Top 10 “hidden-gem food cities” for holiday popularity.
