The National New Energy Vehicle Power Battery Traceability Information Platform Launch Conference was held in Tianjin.
On March 31, 2026, the national new energy vehicle power battery traceability information platform launch meeting was held in Tianjin. More than 500 representatives from companies including those in power batteries, new energy vehicles, battery swapping and leasing, and the recovery and dismantling of scrapped motor vehicles, as well as from comprehensive utilization, and from relevant industry associations, international institutions, and other organizations, attended the meeting. At the meeting, relevant officials from the Department of Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization introduced the progress on work related to the collection and utilization of decommissioned power batteries for new energy vehicles, as well as considerations for the next steps. Experts from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center interpreted the “Interim Measures for the Administration of the Collection, Recovery and Comprehensive Utilization of Decommissioned Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles,” and provided a detailed introduction to the operational key points of the national new energy vehicle power battery traceability information platform. The national new energy vehicle power battery traceability information platform integrates power battery flow data information for relevant entities across the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. It provides functions such as information traceability, assessments of enterprise fulfillment of responsibilities, analysis of traceability information, and special industrial research, supporting whole life-cycle traceability management for power batteries and providing strong technical support for improving the regulatory level for the collection and utilization of decommissioned power batteries for new energy vehicles.
