All 21 crew members rescued from the Indonesian shipwreck accident

Indonesia’s search and rescue agency said on March 31 that after a shipwreck in waters near North Maluku province in the country, all 21 crew members on the vessel had been rescued. Early in the morning of the 31st local time, search and rescue personnel found the survivors floating on a standby boat in waters near North Sulawesi province. The vessel sank in waters near North Maluku province at around 12:30 a.m. on March 30. Around 10:00 a.m. on the 30th, the ship’s owner reported the shipwreck to the relevant local authorities, and a search and rescue operation was launched immediately. Rizal, the head of the search and rescue operation, said that the number of crew members was revised from the initially reported 27 to 21, and that all of them were local fishermen.
