During the Qingming holiday, the national average daily entry and exit personnel at ports was 2.26 million people.
On April 7th, the National Immigration Administration announced that during this year’s Qingming holiday, border inspection agencies nationwide facilitated the entry and exit of 6.78M international travelers, with an average of 2.26 million per day, a 9.1% increase compared to the same period last year; the highest daily crossing peak occurred on April 6th, reaching 2.33M. The National Immigration Administration stated that during the Qingming holiday, residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan entered and exited 3.29M times, a 19.5% increase from the same period last year; foreign nationals entered and exited 843k times, a 20.9% increase from the previous year. Among inbound foreigners, 319k entered under visa exemption policies, a 30.7% increase compared to last year. Additionally, a total of 307k transportation vehicles (ships, trains, vehicles) were checked, a 13.3% increase from the same period last year. According to reports, border inspection agencies across the country, following the unified deployment of the National Immigration Administration, scientifically forecasted and promptly released passenger flow information at ports, reminding travelers to plan their trips reasonably; organized duty shifts efficiently, deploying sufficient law enforcement personnel, and setting up dedicated inspection channels for residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, and elderly travelers returning home for ancestral rites, providing assistance to those needing special care; maintained close inter-departmental cooperation to manage peak passenger flows and ensure smooth and efficient border crossings.
