ME News Report, April 9 (UTC+8), Microsoft Research recently announced its 2026 Research Scholarship program, with a new group of researchers and mentors focusing on the core theme of “Global and Societal Impacts of Artificial Intelligence.” The announced research directions include: developing fair interactive AI tools for creative workers; studying the impact of AI applications on global employment, recruitment, and performance outcomes; grounding AI technology in the majority of languages, cultures, and contexts worldwide; designing and evaluating provenance tools to combat misinformation and false information; advancing the assessment of generative AI using psychometric methods; researching efficient and accurate post-training methods for retrieval models; guiding reasoning models through testing and verification; and developing generative models for regulating genomics.
