LG Group Chairman Meets with Silicon Valley Tech Executives to Discuss AI Collaboration
LG Group announced on Tuesday that Chairman Koo Kwang-mo met with leaders of several artificial intelligence (AI) companies in Silicon Valley last week, aiming to accelerate the group’s AI transformation process.
In a statement, LG said that during his trip to California, Koo Kwang-mo met with Alex Karp, CEO of American software platform company Palantir Technologies, last Thursday local time, to explore potential collaboration in the AI field.
LG added that Koo Kwang-mo and Karp discussed how to enhance LG Group’s artificial intelligence capabilities by benchmarking Palantir’s achievements across global industries, including manufacturing, finance, and logistics.
Koo Kwang-mo also held separate meetings with Deepak Pathak and Abhinav Gupta, co-founders of Skild AI, to discuss the potential of the physical artificial intelligence industry, while observing a demonstration of humanoid robots programmed by this Silicon Valley company.
LG stated, “These meetings demonstrate LG’s commitment to quickly achieving results by clarifying its AI strategy and prioritizing in the physical AI business sector.”
Koo Kwang-mo also visited the headquarters of LG Technology Ventures, LG Group’s investment arm in Silicon Valley, to discuss future investment strategies.
Koo said, “I hope that LG Technology Ventures can play a forward-looking role and, against the backdrop of the AI paradigm shift, lay a solid foundation for the group’s future investment portfolio through active investments.”
LG Technology Ventures currently manages a fund of $890 million, with investments across multiple countries including the United States, Canada, and Israel.
