IT Home, March 6th news, Bloomberg reported yesterday that Oracle is preparing to carry out a large-scale layoff of thousands of employees, possibly as early as this month. The layoffs will affect multiple departments within the company, with some positions being eliminated due to expected decreased demand caused by AI development.

IT Home notes that Oracle regards AI cloud services as a key growth point for its future, pouring significant resources into it. Large-scale data center infrastructure investments have put serious pressure on its cash flow, and the current scale of layoffs, larger than previous ones, is part of its cost-cutting measures. Oracle also announced internally this week that it is reviewing many open positions in its cloud services division, which means the hiring process has also been impacted.
