$XTI Iran Deputy Foreign Minister: The Strait of Hormuz Remains Open, Passage Requires Coordination with Iran

Jin10 Data, April 9th — On April 9th, local time, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hatibzadeh stated in an interview with the media that the Strait of Hormuz remains open at present, but due to the impact of the conflict, there are still certain technical restrictions on passage. Hatibzadeh pointed out that because the strait is in a war zone environment, and Iran has taken multiple measures during the conflict, all ships wishing to pass must communicate and coordinate in advance with the Iranian military and relevant contact points. He emphasized that the waters of the Strait of Hormuz are narrow and involve Iran and Oman's territorial waters, so cautious measures must be taken to ensure the safe passage of oil tankers and various ships. When asked whether U.S. ships are allowed to pass, Hatibzadeh said that in principle, ships from all parties can pass as long as they do not engage in hostile actions. Currently, no related risk signs have been found, but all ships still need to comply with existing coordination mechanisms and restrictions. (CCTV News)
