Responsibility China Chemistry | China Chemistry Releases 2025 ESG Report in Chinese and English

On March 30th, China National Chemical Corporation officially released the Chinese and English versions of the “2025 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report” at the company’s performance briefing. This is China National Chemical’s 4th ESG report and the 14th consecutive year of publishing a social responsibility report. The report covers ESG governance, responsibility topics, responsibility practices, key performance indicators, and systematically showcases the company’s exploration and achievements in sustainable development and building the “Three Community of Destiny.” The report received the “Five-Star” Excellent Report Rating from the China Enterprise Social Responsibility Report Rating Expert Committee.

In terms of green development

China National Chemical focuses on the national goals of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality,” developing special work plans, continuously advancing low-carbon technology breakthroughs, researching and promoting green products, accelerating industrial layout in green and low-carbon fields, and constantly enhancing climate risk response capabilities. It improves the environmental management system, details and solidifies ecological and environmental responsibilities at all levels, and resolutely fights pollution prevention and control battles. Fully implementing clean production, integrating green concepts throughout the entire project cycle, strengthening efficient energy and resource recycling, and promoting energy saving, carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, and growth in coordination. Deeply participating in the Yangtze River protection and Yellow River basin ecological conservation, promoting ecological environment restoration and sustainable development.

In terms of social value

China National Chemical continuously improves the QHSE system, deeply advancing the three-year action plan for fundamental safety production management, fully carrying out the “Thunder Action” and “Three Special Rectifications,” achieving nearly 1 billion safe man-hours throughout the year, with overall stable safety production. Vigorously promoting quality-driven enterprise initiatives, advancing star-rated standardized construction sites, and earning 136 high-quality projects at or above provincial and ministerial levels in the year, with a 99.3% first-pass rate for unit projects. Adhering to a people-oriented approach, promoting the shared growth of employees and the company. Strengthening supply chain resilience, deepening upstream and downstream collaboration, and empowering high-quality industry development. Actively practicing the “Belt and Road” initiative, accelerating the creation of “Three Important Windows and a Golden Business Card,” achieving 8 consecutive increases in the “ENR” ranking. Continuing to consolidate poverty alleviation results, solidly promoting rural revitalization, with designated assistance work rated the highest in the central units’ assessments for four consecutive years. Enthusiastically engaging in public welfare, widely carrying out volunteer services, disaster relief, and rescue efforts, taking practical actions to improve people’s livelihoods and demonstrating the responsibility of a central enterprise.

In terms of corporate governance

China National Chemical insists on and strengthens the Party’s overall leadership, promoting the integration and mutual promotion of Party building and production operations, ensuring high-quality development through new achievements in comprehensive strict governance of the Party. Continuously improving the modern enterprise system and market-oriented management mechanisms, fully completing reform and enhancement actions, and being rated as Grade A in the three-year performance assessment of central enterprises. Strengthening comprehensive risk prevention and internal control management, adhering to compliance bottom lines and business ethics, ensuring the company’s standardized operation and steady long-term development. Persisting in “bright lights for scientific research” and “bright lights for transformation,” advancing independent innovation, technological integration, and platform construction, fully launching the “Spark Plan,” steadily promoting the implementation of key industrial chain R&D projects, and accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. The year saw approval of 1 national key R&D project by the Ministry of Science and Technology, 11 provincial and ministerial science and technology progress awards, 67 provincial and ministerial engineering method recognitions, and high-standard completion of the “Digital Chemistry 2.0” top-level plan.
