I get paid upfront to buy shares in the future at a lower price.
Just say that out loud.
Crazy right...
I do NOT do this as cash secured.
I secure the sold puts with my base portfolio.
Then I never have cash sitting around not working.
THE KEY:
- Only sell puts when the company is trading below intrinsic value.
- Only sell puts when the company has a moat.
- Only sell puts when the company has a durable competitive advantage.
- Only sell puts on companies you are ok to hold for the long run.
